Hello Everyone! This week's Fabulous Friday challenge at Frosted Designs is all about brads. You know those little embellishments we all have a few of. Well, I might have a few more than a few! :) My layout all started with one sheet of rocket ship paper I picked up for $1. There was just something about the colors of it that I loved. I knew I could make something with it.
I just love this picture of Aden. This is his go to look for me when I ask for a shot. Not sure if its his "Mom...again!?" look or what but I have many photos of this side head tilt and that smile. Just love it! I loved those little rocket ships so much that I decided to cut some out and make them pop off the page, just like they were taking off.
Originally, my title was going to be "totally and thoroughly over the moon in love with you" but it became a bit long. But with that came the thought of a full moon shape with my brads. I thought that would be a cool way to use them. One of my teammates at Frosted Designs counted my brads for a total of 95! Wow! I didn't realize that it was that many, just that it about wiped out my orange brads with only a few...and this time I really mean a few...left.
I hope you'll take a look through your stash of brads and join us for this week's Friday challenge!
Just a brief weather update.....my husband read my last post and said it was all about cold. Well, yes. See he has been in the States for 3 weeks enjoying the nice spring weather the midwest has to offer. Here in New Zealand we are experiencing a taste of winter in the autumn season! He will have a shock when he comes home tomorrow! But today it did warm up just a bit. It was 12* (53.6*f) instead of 7* (44.6*f). Its crazy what a bit of sun can do for a person. :)
Its nice to be able to photograph a bit of a sunset. Thanks for all your warm wishes! Now, head on over to Frosted Designs and give the brad challenge a go! Can't wait to see what you make!

Roaring like a lion...Pencil Lines and Scrapbookers Anonymous...
The saying for March has always been "in like a lion out like a lamb". Now I do realize that its April but I'm wondering if this is the month in New Zealand that the lion comes in. After two weeks of nice, warmish weather we are experiencing very chilly winds and this is the 5th straight day of rain. Brr.....Not sure if this is winter weather come early or if the worst is yet to come.
As I took Aron to school this morning, this was the temperature outside. 7*c......44.6*f. Now when you do not have central heat and the insulation isn't all that great, 44.6 is COLD. Plus factor in the wind we are getting! The temps here in NZ are not as extreme as in Indiana but cold is still cold. We do have a heat pump in our tv lounge (living room) and a gas fire place. The office lounge....aka my scrap space...doesn't not have those heating systems so I use a small oil plug in heater. It just can't keep up with the cold today. Brrr....now I'm not really complaining, its just a different way of life than I'm used to.
Twice a week, teammate Kelsey and I walk from her house down to our favorite coffee shop for a hot drink. Well, with the rain and cold today we drove down. I had to snap a quick picture of the ocean and clouds. The ocean waves just looked angry today. The ocean is SO cold on a sunny day I can only imagine what it would feel like today! Gives me goosebumps to think about it!
But this helps us warm up! I drink a chai latte with trim (skim) milk. Mmmmmm.....warms me up for sure! The company is good for my soul and this is good for my cold hands. :)
Pencil lines and Scrapbookers Anonymous...
For this layout I decided to combine challenges. The sketch at Pencil Lines was a great one for this photo of the boys. Banners are so "in" right now. I decided to do a little bit different banner. I liked the way it turned out.
The Gals over at Scrapbookers Anonymous really found a challenge this time around. I love this site because they ask you to create something with stuff you have in your stash. This time it was eyelets. Wow....I hadn't used eyelets for years! I remembered that I had a package of them that Aden gave me for my birthday about 2 years ago. So I pulled them out to see what I could do with them. Hmmmm...I decided that I would put them in my gears. The challenge was not only eyelets but 23 of them. I just squeaked by with 24! Boy, it had been awhile since I had set an eyelet.
Great challenge Ladies!!
Now, if I can get my fingers to thaw out enough I'm going to work on a project. But first to find some warm, fuzzy socks. My feet are cold!!! Hmmmm....do I have warm, fuzzy socks?? Off to look! Hope its warm where you are today!!

Frosted Designs...
The new Tuesday sketch is up over at Frosted Designs and its a great one! I chose these pictures of my son flying a kite in his gum boots. I really thought this layout would be about flying kites but in the end, the gum boots stuck out to me more than the kite flying. I just love Ian in his cute boots! Head on over to Frosted Designs and take a look at the sketch yourself. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Scrapbookers Anonymous win!!!
I was so excited this morning when I got scrappy mail!! I had won the February monthly prize over at Scrapbookers Anonymous and today received my package! And a personalized note!! I am soooooo excited to play with my new things!!! Thanks Ladies!!!
Oh, we also got a package from my Sister-in-law! Mostly for the boys but she told me there were a few things in there for me too. :) We got it right as they were heading out the door for school so I told them we'd open it when they got home. I know it will be worth the wait!!! *happy sigh*.....what a great day!!!

Soccer and Sketchy Thursdays...
Today was Aron's first soccer game. It was so beautiful! Sunny and a little bit crisp, just like autumn should be. Aron played a great game. I was quite proud of him. I think as the season goes on they will become an even better team. That game ended in a draw...3-3.
Sketchy Thursdays....
After the soccer game, all three boys had play dates. Aden had his friend over and the other boys went to their friend's houses. So it gave me a chance to do a little playing. Oh, after the garage was cleaned out! What a job! But anyway, I was glad to get this layout done for the weekly challenge over at Sketchy Thursdays.
I really think my style is evolving and changing. And this layout is part of that new style. I think it has to do with not being able to run into Michael's or Hobby Lobby whenever I could and having to work with the scrapbook things I have. I really am enjoying that part of my scrapbooking right now but yes I certainly miss running into those favorite craft stores of mine. Sigh....Anyway, I loved the outcome of this layout. I think I need to print some more black and white photos. I don't work with them very often either.
Its a grey and rainy day here. Not such a great day for laundry or mowing the yard. And with the vacuuming done I think I'm going to work on a project. :)

Design Dollies...
Design Dollies had quite the challenge for their Trifecta challenge this month. Their challenge...."you", shades of pink with a dash of yellow, and their sketch. Talk about a challenge! Me and Pink??? It was certainly a challege but I'm always up for a good one!
