Strawberry Malt

Hi Everyone!
Lydia here with a layout for you today.

My boys love malts and shakes and this was the perfect photo to document that.  I've used a mix of Crate Paper lines on this page.  Just a fun, simple page to put together.

Off The Rails Scrapbooking

Where do I begin???  My poor neglected blog.  Its been months since I posted anything or created anything for that matter.  Work, boys, life…..it all just got crazy and inspiration went out the window.  Things really are still crazy but I'm trying to get back into scrapbooking as I do love it.

I've now joined the Design Team at Off the Rails Scrapbooking and am excited to participate in my first challenge.  Thanks for having me Ladies!  Make sure you stop by the blog for more inspiration.

The first challenge is a color one.  I just love this pallet!  These are colors that just draw me in so this was a fun one for me.  Here is the inspiration.

I love all the teals and the pop of red.  I used a photo of my middle son when he turned 13.  Crazy that I now have two teenagers!  Anyway, I've painted wood veneer (my favorites!) and a wooden card "Life is Good" to help bring in all those yummy teals.

I found this months/dates card in my Project Life stash and knew it was perfect for this layout.  I colored in Ian's birthday with my favorite pens, Gelly Rolls.  Love the way it turned out!

Here's another look at the wood veneer I painted and a bit of colored washi tape to pull it all together.

Thanks for taking the time to look!  I'll be back sooner than later.  Make sure you link up your project on the blog using the inspiration photo for the chance to win a great prize!  Rachel has a generous prize for this challenge!  You won't want to miss out.

Yummy Orangesicle Twine!

Hi Everyone!

Lydia here today with a pocket scrapbooking project for you today.  I was so thrilled when Lesley asked me to be a Guest Designer for Trendy Twine!  I love twine and this twine is seriously THE best twine around.  I've tried others but it is always my go to twine.

Today I have a pocket scrapbooking page to share with you highlighting the Orangesicle Twine

My boys played basketball for the first time this year and this twine was the perfect compliment for one of their pages.  I used this twine to wrap a wooden card I bought at a local craft store.  One of the sayings we used each game with our boys was "I love to watch you play".  It was recommended by the people who ran the basketball and we loved adopting it.  This Orangesicle Twine was just what this card needed to really make it pop.

I love the way this page turned out!  I will be using this twine along with the other yummy colors in Annie's Paper Botique in more of my pocket scrapbooking.  Make sure you check out all Lesley has to offer in the Boutique and pick up some twine today!!

Till next time!

Spring is on its Way!

Hello Everyone!  I know most of the USA is still in winter and Colorado is no exception.  Today my scrap room table looked like spring though!  I've been playing with the papers in the Fresh Cut stack and they are so spring like.  The colors are bright and fresh.  Today I have two projects for you.

This layout was so quick and fun to put together.  I used sheets from the 6x6 pad and then just added some tags and embellishments.  I love products that coordinate together!

I bought this wee wooden bird at my local craft store.  I wanted to bring some spring into my home and this was perfect for just that.  The papers from the Fresh Cut line are beautiful blues, pinks, yellows, greens, and oranges.  A few flowers and a cute little saying completed my bird.

Make sure you stop on over at the Frosted Designs Store for a Progressive Sale that is going on right now!  You will NOT want to miss this sale.  You can find these and other beautiful and fun products there.

See you again soon!

Bundled Up for Frosted Designs!

Hi Everyone!  As I write this, I have just seen that Punxsutawney Phi has seen his shadow and we are in for six more weeks of winter.  I am longing for spring but this news doesn't surprise me much.  Here in Colorado we received about 8-10 inches of snow over the last few days.  Perfect for playing in my scrap room and what better collection than Crate Paper's Bundled Up.

My boys were so excited to play on this lake.  It was frozen and the ice was 2 feet thick!  They walked all the way across it while slipping and sliding.  It was a fun day for us all.

This collection is so fun!  Such fun patterns and embellishments.  I've used the chipboard stickers and some fun enamel dots.

I love this big "fun" veneer from the Dear Lizzy collection!

Make sure you pop on over to the Onliine Store for this collection, great sales, and new products!!  I'm anxiously awaiting a box from Frosted Designs and I know it is packed full of fun things!  Normally, I wouldn't wish for more snow but if my box is here, I hope there will be enough snow to keep me in my scrap room!

See you again soon!

More Season of the Stars

Hi Everyone!  Lydia here and I have to tell you….I have really loved and used the Season of the Stars scrapbooking kit.  Funny enough, I haven't used it for one Christmas or seasonal layout even though its perfect for those photos too.  I will also admit that sometimes I am a last minute get it done kind of gal.  BUT the ease of how the Frosted Designs products go together makes it so quick to put a project together.  This time around I used this kit for a photo of my son's 14th birthday.

Aron has just turned 14.  His favorite number by the way, so I wanted to show this photo off and this kit was just perfect for it.  I cut the #14 from one of the Teresa Collins papers included in the kit.  They would be perfect for dates, birthdays, Christmas countdown, December Dailys and so many other uses.

I have a total addiction to wood veneer.  :)  I will loudly and willingly admit that.  I love the star bursts that come with this kit.  They are some of my favorites.

These tags both had Christmas/winter type sayings on the bottom of them.  I knew I could still use them by just tucking those parts under my photos!  Brilliant!  Like I said, I love how versatile this kit is.

Now is THE time to pop on over to the Frosted Designs Online Store.  The kits are on sale along with other great products.  There are also lots of new CHA products coming too.  So make sure you stop on over and fill up your cart!  I just placed my order last night and cannot wait to play with my new goodies.

Frosted Designs Season of the Stars Scrapbooking Kit

Hi Everyone!  Hope you are enjoying getting back into the swing of things since Christmas.  This was our first week back to school for me and my three boys.  It was a bit rough getting back into the 5:00am alarm!  But I've certainly enjoyed the routine, including some scrapping time.

Today I have a couple of layouts from the Season of Stars Scrapbooking Kit from Frosted Designs.  This kit is packed full of fun things!  I love all the gold and sparkle in it.

I just loved this "joy" paper and didn't want to cover up that part of it.  I considered cutting it for a Project Life card but decided to use this photo of Aden instead.  I had painted this penguin (his favorite animal!) in one of my after school pottery classes.  I was really pleased when Aden said he thought I had bought it because "it was so good".  Makes my heart happy to bring my boys joy.

The embellishments in this pack are right up my alley!  Wood veneer, washi tape, gems, and more.  I love having all those bits and pieces that I can pair with yummy paper.  With these wood veneers, I used silver and gold paint and gave them a make over.  A little gem in the middle completed the look.

I had taken these photos on a frosty/foggy day.  It was so serene and calm out.  Frost can be so delicate and beautiful.

Right now would be a great time to head on over to the Frosted Designs Store and pick up this kit and other goodies.  The kits are ON SALE!!  Buy two kits, get one FREE!!  Now who doesn't like free?!  New products are flooding the store as well so get your fingers on over there and do some shopping.  You don't even have to go out in the cold!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  See you next time!

Art of Life

I was so very excited when I saw Art of Life paper in my goodie box from Liz at Artfull Crafts.  I couldn't wait to play with this range.  I'm not normally in front of the camera, nor do I take many selfless but this photo was an exception.  I had just had my hair done and felt fairly good about myself.  :)  So what better way to kick off the new year than with a selfie layout.

This paper range is just gorgeous.  I love the negative specialty paper and how my doily could peek through it.  I used the numbers from the domino paper along with this brad for the "0".  I love this background paper and the way it looks as if its soft and blurry around the edges.  No photo editing on this page!

Sorry for the dark photos but its rainy/snowy/grey here in Colorado today.  What a way to start the new year!

I also made some fast and easy cards with this paper and a few other goodies.  Just love this lace and trim.

We are making a 10 hour road trip tomorrow for my husband's niece's wedding this weekend.  Sure hoping this snow/rain stays in Colorado and we are not following it.  Hope you all have had a good start to the new year!  Looking forward to sharing more crafty inspirations with you in 2014.

Till next time!
