Artfull Crafts

Today has been a cold, wet, very wintery feeling day in Colorado.  A lovely day to stay in and have a play with some yummy Kaiser ranges.  First up is a card from the "Lady Rose" collection.  I'm not a card maker but the 12x12 paper that has tags on it is perfect for cards or layouts.  A bit of lace ribbon and flowers complete it.

The "Base Coat" range is full of rustic looking barn wood and brick patterns.  Paired with buttons, tags, twine, and a few chipboard accents, it made for a great boy layout.

Pop on over to the Artfull Crafts shop for these ranges and so much more.  See you soon with some more new yummy ranges and products!

Tag You're It!

I'm back with another layout with Persimmon from the Frosted Designs shop.  I truly love this collection and will be using it for many projects and order more.  :)

Lori is hosting the challenge over at the Frosted Designs blog with a challenge for you.  The challenge is "Tag You're It".....use a tag or ticket on your project.  Any way you want, just make sure it has a tag or ticket on it.

For my layout, the tag I used is from Pink Paislee Color Wash Watercolor tags set.  I misted my tag with Glimmer mist and inked it with Distress ink.  I have also used the 12x12 Persimmon paper from Basic Grey along with some 6x6 paper behind my tag.  A single wood veneer heart from Studio Calico finishes the page.

We have just moved to Colorado 8 weeks ago and I am loving autumn here.  My favorite weekend trip is to Rocky Mountain National Park to see the elk in rut and the aspen turning golden.  Snow on the mountains is just an added bonus.  It truly is a gorgeous time of year.

Make sure you stop by the Frosted Designs blog to check out the other designer's tag projects and to play along.  Don't forget to link up your project for the chance to win a prize and so I can check them out.  Tag!  You're it!  :)

Persimmon

Hello Friends!  I'm here with Frosted Designs today to show you the yummy Persimmon paper collection from Basic Grey.  When I first saw this collection, I knew I was going to love it and boy do I!  I believe it is one that I will use till there is nothing left and then reorder.  The blues, oranges, browns, yellows, and creams are perfect for fall, boys, or any occasion.

I used papers from both the 12x12 and the 6x6 pads along with the chipboard embellishments.

I just love the alphabet sticker sheet that comes with the 12x12 paper collection.  It includes three different styles and sizes.  The chipboard pack has a ton of fun embellishments in it, including these leaves, the bird, and flowers.  I just love all the different things it has to offer.

I've included one wee Um Wow heart on my page.  I absolutely LOVE the wood veneer cameras by Studio Calico.  They are so fun!  I have added a small scrap of patterned paper behind the camera just to show it off a bit more.

I have many other projects in mind with this collection and cannot wait to get started with them.  Make sure you stop on over at the Frosted Designs shop to find these products and much more.  There are new ones arriving often and even some sale/clearance products.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lady Rose Inspiration

Hello Friends!  I'm here with a couple projects for you for Artfull Crafts today.  First up are two using Kaiser's Lady Rose collection.  A very pink and pretty vintage collection that goes perfect with the October "Think Pink" challenge!

I covered this wooden crown with this sheet of paper.  Love the "b" side of it as well.  This rub on was perfect for the inside of the doily and so easy to apply.  Pink flowers paired well with the white and red ones to add a nice cluster to the side.  I also added some leaves and a wooden girl from Studio Calico.  A touch of lace and some bling complete this project.

My second project with this range is a gift tag.  The base is Kaiser's wood embellishment covered with Lady Rose paper.  I used one of the tags from this paper and trimmed it to fit the tag.  Just a couple flowers added to the corner and a bit of this gorgeous ribbon to wrap around a present finishes it off.  Simple yet beautiful.

Make sure you pop on over to the shop because right now this range is on sale!  Great time to pick it up and have a play.

I have one more project to share with you today using Kaiser's Base Coat range.  This is a great natural looking range with lots of brick and wood grain papers.  Kaiser also has a great range of colored card stock.  I used a bit of mist and some molding paste on this layout as well.

Loved the way these clips can add to a page without making it bulky and the same with this chipboard piece.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.  Pop on around to the shop and have a peek at all the goodies over there.  I'll be back later in the month with more inspiration for you.

Grand Opening Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be sharing the Grand Opening of the Frosted Designs store with you by way of this Blog Hop!  Hopefully, you have come to my blog from Anita Scroggins blog.  If not, stop on over at Frosted Designs blog where the fun begins!  The hop will run through October 13 and there are lots of fabulous prizes to be won!

Here are the rules for the hop.......

*Each designer has a word for you to collect as you hop along.

*Each designer will have a project that showcases favorite products from the store and maybe a prize or two along the way to be won!!

*Once you have collected all of the words, email the phrase to frosteddesigns@ymail.com  One winner will be randomly picked to win a $20 Gift Certificate to the store (Gift Certificate does not include shipping).

I have used the Beautiful Life Kit from Echo Park for my project.  This kit is so versatile and comes with so many beautiful papers and two full sheets of stickers.  It along with the Um Wow hearts and the Dylusions Ink Spray are some of my top favorites from the store.

I used the insert of a sticker sheet and covered the writing with the flower paper of the Beautiful Life kit.  The ruler paper and the doilies are from the same kit along with the "sweet moments" tag.

Did you know that the Um Wow chipboard can be painted, sprayed or left natural?  Here I have used the Calypso Teal Dylusions Spray Ink mixed with white acrylic paint to paint my hearts a light blue. The color would be more intense if less paint is used.

There are many other great products in the Frosted Designs store.  Keep hopping to see the other designer's favorite products.  Don't forget to collect your words along the way!!

My word is........

"Designs"

Next you are headed to Brenda Becknell's blog for her project.  If you get lost along the way, here is a list of all the designer's blogs to visit.

Hi Everyone!  Today I have a tutorial for  Frosted Designs.  This tutorial shows you how I made my "Creativity with Texture" canvas.  For my project I have used Heidi Swapp's butterfly stencil with Golden Molding PasteDylousions Ink Spray, and the Um Wow Heart Confetti.

I started by putting some of the hearts around on my canvas.  (You can use any surface for this project.)  I used the hearts as a stencil along with the butterfly stencil.

Next, I used Calypso Teal and Dirty Martini Dylusion Spray and spritzed my canvas with them.

Then I positioned the stencil where I wanted the butterflies.

I spread the molding paste around with an old store "rewards" card but anything stiff to spread it will work.

I just continued to spread the molding paste until I had the thickness I desired.

Then its time to carefully peel the stencil away from the surface.  I love the way these stencils just wash off with running water.

A lesson I learned with this project is that the molding paste took on the color of the mist.  I hadn't quite planned on that!  But in the end the colored butterflies grew on me.  :)  I added the Um Wow hearts back on to my canvas for added texture.

Lastly, I used letter stickers to add a saying.

I hope you will join us for the "Creativity with Texture" challenge.  Don't forget to check out the Frosted Designs Store for great products including those I have used here.

Tomorrow will be the Grand Opening Blog Hop for the Frosted Designs store!!  I will be participating along with several other designers.  I would LOVE for you to play along with us!  There will be PRIZES, DISCOUNTS, and as always INSPIRATION!!!
