In my mind September has always been the month of change. Weather starts to change to cooler temps (although right now we are experiencing close to 100* weather), leaves start to change, and routines change to settle back into school days. There are even more changes in my life this month as we are moving to Colorado from Illinois. New school, new town, new job, and new adjustments to make.
The designers at About A Boy are changing it up just a bit this month as well. The challenge is "Black, White, and One other Color" and the change is the designers are doing a swap over challenge with the designers at About A Girl. So for this challenge your project or layout can include a girl along with your boy. Husband, son, nephew, grandpa....whoever your "boy" is.
I chose a photo of my youngest son Aden and I from a garage sale last summer. He is very much an independent boy but he does love his mum. And I love that!
I have always told my boys "you are my favorite". It has become something they will say back to me. "but I'm your favorite"....wink, wink. :) Love they enjoy it as much as I do. My husband told me once that Aden really must be my favorite because I do more layouts of him than my other boys. I pointed out that he is the youngest and will still let me take his photo. The other two kind of give me that "really, again" face. lol......
I used some old game pieces along with sticker alphas for my title. Love the look of mixed fonts. The mask that I used for my misting was a plastic doily with some green crocheted bits around the edges. I picked it up at a garage sale and knew that it would be perfect as a mask when the crocheted part was cut off. I just love the pattern.
Come play along with us at About A Boy with the "Black, White, and One other Color" challenge. Make sure you link up your project for a chance to win a prize and so I can check it out!
